I am taking a break from indie-mp3 which may, or not as the case may be, become permanent. I think I have taken it as far as I can in one form or another these past 10 years or so. However I am still involved in a few other projects.

I will still be writing reviews for Sounds XP

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart – Tomorrow Dies Today

Here is the flip side to the new Pains Of being At Heart single The Body which I mentioned here in case you missed it. It’s out now on PIAS (Europe) or Slumberland (States) . It’s rockier than usual and I think it needs some of Peggy’s trademark synths in order to resuscitate it if I am honest. Thoughts?

A Pupp is For Life……………

One label I have enjoyed exploring in the past few weeks as my revival into all things electronica continues alongside my usual diet of indiepop and post punk is the Norwegian label Full Pupp. I have read that it’s a nu-disco label which luckily means absolutely nothing to me. I like what I hear and these few tracks are certainly no exception. These tracks sound absolutely amazing when played through headphones or just very loud!

The Garlands – You Never Notice Me

At last the brilliant track You Never Notice Me by The Garlands is finally getting a release which may explain why the track, which was previously made freely available via My Space and hosted on indie-mp3 ever since, was suddenly removed without any warning or contact – which would have been nice.

Luckily I don’t hold a grudge so I bring you the news that it gets the vinyl release it deserves via Big Pink Cake Records. It’s out at the end of the month, backed with Continue and the lucky punters going to indietracks can pick a copy up after the bands performance.

As for a review I don’t think so as I have been raving about this track since 2007 so here is the video once more. Any old excuse to post it again eh!

Bubblegum Lemonade Live At Last!

Some of you may have noticed the Facebook Group badge lodged in this site’s sidebar which is for a group I set up in jest to encourage Bubblegum Lemonade to play live. Well it’s finally happened as Laz et al took to the stage this past Monday night in Glasgow supporting fellow Matinee artists The Hermit Crabs and Math and Physics club.

Sadly I wasn’t there but some videos have been posted to Youtube by the fella himself. All I need to do know is persuade him to play down south. I reckon another year or two of nagging from London’s indiepop community should do the trick!

Come On Over and Listen To The Veronica Falls

Veronica Falls will be releasing their self titled début on Slumberland Records on September 20th with a release everywhere else the following month via Bella Union. They have made a video for one of the tracks, which is also available as a free download, called Come On Over. Mighty fine it is too with some haunting arrangements. The video ain’t bad either!
