Cosmic Call is an up and coming band from Akranes, Iceland. Named after interstellar radio messages that were sent from Ukraine in 1999 and 2003, they self-released a 7 song CD recently. To save money on production their families and friends helped out hand sowing the sleeves for all 1000 copies.
I’m posting a song that has been glued to my brain for the past days, not least due to some fancy keyboard playing. You could do worse than to also check out the song “Cold Hands” on the band’s Myspace page.
They’ve been making a splash in the Icelandic music scene lately, winning a contest in their college in 2007, and finishing second place in the Global Battle of the Bands Icelandic pre-finals last year. I, for one, will be watching their next steps closely.
pretty nice! but I wish there was more of a lead guitar. and the vocals are a bit too trite
