Decibelles are an all girl French three piece who make a hell of a lot of noise. Their new single , released on the excellently named April 77 Records, clocks in at just 46 seconds but in that short space of time it makes you think, smile and dance like a loon. Flip side Black [...]

Linda Guilala

I wonder what Linda Guilala means. I know however that their latest hit single is named “Nadie se dará cuenta“, which google tells me is “Nobody will notice”. Somebody should notice this band however since it’s formed out of the ashes of the venerable pop-punk band Juniper Moon from Spain. Apparently Iván the drummer and [...]

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have certainly flourished in 2009 with a fine début album and a couple of cracking 7″ singles. Having followed the bands progress from their self released debut EP and their first week long UK tour in a freezing February last year to a sell out show at the [...]

Cosmic Call is an up and coming band from Akranes, Iceland. Named after interstellar radio messages that were sent from Ukraine in 1999 and 2003, they self-released a 7 song CD recently. To save money on production their families and friends helped out hand sowing the sleeves for all 1000 copies.
I’m posting a song that [...]
Swing Youth – Myself To Blame/Blade Of Grass
Posted in Single/EP Reviews, tagged Swing Youth on October 19, 2009 | 1 Comment »
A ‘double-A’ debut release from this Twickenham quartet fronted by brothers Chris and Dave Chanell, who trecked all the way from Watford! It’s a couple of slices of pure pop – inoffensive, totally innocent and about as twee as you will find! Myself To Blame is short and repetitive, but jumps along nicely with jangly [...]
