Pinkshinyultrablast are a band from Russia whose debut EP captures their obvious love of late 1980’s shoegazing. Blaster does just that, providing an adrenaline rush of fuzzy guitars complete with the dream pop trademark ethereal vocals which are desperate to be heard. It’s a great song but there is not much in the way of variety here.
Luckily their one tune is a good one with the rest of the EP’s tracks being variations of Blaster and you can play shoegazing bingo whilst it plays out. My Bloody valentine, Lush, Ride, Chapter HOUSE!
Now Pinkshinyultrablast have set down their marker let’s hope they manage to rise above their obvious influences for future releases.
