Angular have taken the two best tracks from the Self-Taught Magic From A Book album and bundled them together as a limited 7″ inch single release.
The band take inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Mystery Of Marie Roget on the track of the same name skilfully narrating the story alongside the harmonies and alarm clocks! The way “Marie Roget” rolls off Elin Grimstad tongue is as tantalising (and mysterious) as the song itself. Secret Place on the other hand is a vintage piece of ethereal shoegaze that sounds like Lush at their peak. It’s a super track and as the highlight of the album thoroughly deserving a single release.
